In 1975, the maximum Pell Grant, targeted toward low-income students, covered roughly 84% of the cost of attending a public college or university. Today it only covers 36%. (The Education Trust)

The Fulfillment Fund's unique and comprehensive mentoring approach has earned the organization distinguished awards and honors.

  • In 2007, our CEO, Andrea Cockrum received the Board Leadership Award of Excellence at the annual National College Access Network conference.  The award is given to an individual who best demonstrates “Personal Service and Commitment to their Organization, Service to Community and Contributions to the Field of College Access."

  • The Fulfillment Fund was the 2nd place winner of the Peter Drucker Innovation in Nonprofit Award, chosen from over 520 applicants nationwide.

  • Voted the "Best Community-Based Mentoring Program in California" by the California Mentor Initiative.

Other awards include:

  • Honored by the League of Women Voters for Outstanding Community Service.

  • Recognized by The White House as one of 177 "Promising Practices" in accordance with The President's Initiative on Race.

  • Recipient of the first-ever "Sally Reddig Schulze Award" by the National Partners In Education for developing and strengthening effective educational partnerships.

  • Honored by the historic Central City Association as one of the "treasures" of Los Angeles.
