"College was never in my plans for the future, but once the Fulfillment Fund came into my life, my only goal was to get into a good college with a full scholarship."

Our Programs
The Fulfillment Fund's programs are designed to increase high school graduation and college access rates among disadvantaged and minority youth. We build relationships with our students and provide resources and support in order to inspire them to overcome a culture of low expectations. As many of our students are the first in their family to graduate from college, we know our work is making a significant difference in breaking the cycle of poverty for future generations.
In partnership with local Title 1 schools, Fulfillment Fund advisors meet with our high school students to help them transition from middle school to high school. High school students
(9th-12th grades) receive our classroom based curriculum focused on five themes: high school graduation, self-advocacy and empowerment, practical life skills, college readiness and college planning. Our goal is to help students remain motivated and eligible for colleges throughout the country.
We also provide workshops on essay writing, SAT prep, financial aid and college counseling.
In addition, we host students on local and overnight college visits throughout Northern and Southern California so they can explore college options and begin to envision themselves as college students. High school juniors and seniors receive our one-on-one support in completing college applications, writing college essays, financial aid planning and college matching.
In addition, Fulfillment Fund college counselors also support lesson delivery in the classroom and expose students to information and resources related to college readiness and college access.
Mentoring
Recognized as among the best in the state, our mentoring services help students reach their highest potential through a professionally-supported relationship with a caring and committed adult mentor.
Students in need of mentoring are selected from our high school classrooms. We offer extensive training, support, programs and workshops to our student-mentor teams, and closely case-manage the mentoring relationship. Because of our extensive support, our mentored students are graduating from high school with increased confidence and a college plan.
Over the last few years, the steady decline of funding coupled with rising costs of tuition has impacted many of our students' plans for attending college. In response, the Fulfillment Fund has committed to offering financial support to students who meet rigorous academic and need-based criteria. Funded in part by our sponsors, we support these students for multiple years after high school as they pursue a college degree.
We offer:
Renewable College Scholarships
Transfer Scholarships
Textbook Stipends
We also support students with ongoing advisement and referrals to resources throughout college, including access to paid internships. As a result, our students are persisting in college despite many socioeconomic challenges.

Internships
Our Internship Service is a cooperative effort with corporations and non-profit agencies. Students selected to participate are those who were granted Fulfillment Fund college scholarships. Intern candidates are thoroughly screened and selected to become a part of a high quality student cohort.
All interns attend our business etiquette and job skills training. Fulfillment Fund Staff provide the intern cohort with a list of potential internship opportunities. Students submit resumes to Intern Partners based on student's area of interest and if hired, students lead into successful summer internships.
Companies and organizations that offer internships commit to providing:
A job of at least 20-40 hours per week, for a minimum of 8 weeks during the summer
A mentoring environment for the student
A salary of at least $8.00 per hour
Every year, over 20 companies offer internships to Fulfillment Fund students. Many do so year after year, including: ABC-TV Good Morning America, Arcadia Methodist Hospital, Crew Creative Advertising, Disability Rights Legal Center, DreamWorks SKG, Kidsave International - Non-Profit, SBE Entertainment, Simmons Lathan Media Group, Universal Pictures, Wells Fargo, Women In Film and more.
